MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications to take our civil service test and ultimately qualify
to be a Taylor Police Officer are:
- 20 (must turn 21 by academy graduation) - 44 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 12 college hours or Honorable
Discharge from US Armed Forces.
- Have a valid Texas drivers license at time of hire
- Be a citizen of the US by birth or naturalization
- Be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Be of good moral character
- Shall not be prohibited from carrying a firearm or possessing ammunition
- Shall be certified or certifiable by TCLEOSE for licensure as a Texas
Peace Officer (as defined also in local Civil Service Rules)
